There was a large overlap in the topics discussed for AoWs this week. There were many articles on ISIS and how they are still at large. There were also a few articles on the topic of rights. One article talked a little bit about LGBT rights and another on Women's Rights. In the large variety of articles we discussed there was no specific country or even area focussed on. Some articles talked about Nigeria, America, Egypt, and Turkey. I enjoyed learning about the many different events happening in the world right now. Doing these gallery walks is a great idea because it encourages students to learn about important events that may effect us of the world.
My favorite topic that I learned about was about the English changes. There was an article that talked about how there may be changes in the English language and how this could effect many people. This is very important for people to know because there are so many people who speak English. If the English language were to change in anyway there could be many issues. Since there are many people who speak English it will be hard to have them change things already used for so long.
I think that at least once a month we should do gallery walks for AoWs so we can become aware of what its happening in our world. This is a fun way to engage in what is happening while learning from your peers. It is also very interesting to see what articles your peers choose because we get to see what they are interested in as well. I am defiantly one to say this is fun and I want to do it again.
